Courage to Express Your True Self
From an esoteric perspective, visibility is more than simply being noticed — it is the courageous act of coming into alignment with and expressing your true self, your eternal
‘I Am’.
To be visible is to say to yourself and to the world, “Here I am!” It is to claim your personal authority, your innate gifts and your unique role and place in the world.
The Visibility Wound
The visibility wound is an initiating wound associated with the fear of being seen, or fully known by others. It is a wound commonly carried by spiritual seekers, lightworkers, healers, shamans, healer-priests and priestesses, magicians, medicine men and women and spiritual leaders – those whose healing, spiritual and magickal work historically challenged the status quo or threatened existing power structures as their work was focused on reinstating and supporting the sovereignty and autonomy of the individual.
The holistic wound has impacted the soul, and even the spirit, in this or other lifetimes due to experiencing the perils of stepping into the public eye in their sacred role.
The visibility wound often arises or stems from:
- Far memory of persecution, exile, judgment, betrayal, ridicule or danger or annihilation for expressing true self or spiritual truth.
- Ancestral trauma related to religious or societal oppression of feminine, magickal, spiritual or indigenous wisdom.
- Collective wounding around power, voice, and authenticity.
- Negative energetic patterns in consciousness that negate the capacity for confident action, being heard and spiritual identity.
It is a type of wounding that can cause the soul to be predisposed to consciously or unconsciously withdraw from engagement. In other words, the soul chooses to keep itself small in order to try to keep itself ‘safe’ by creating the illusion of safety. Behind the illusory façade, the soul is in pain, tormented by the inner conflict of wanting to evolve and mature so that it can be all it can be.
Reclaiming the ‘I Am’
The planet Mars plays a pivotal role in understanding and healing the visibility wound.
Mars is the planetary ruler of action, assertion, courage, drive, and initiation. Mars represents the divine inner warrior—the part of the psyche that says: “I am here. I have a right to act. I move forward with purpose.”
To heal the visibility wound, we must work to restore, rebalance, and re-sanctify our inner Mars, which is the gatekeeper and guardian for the ‘I Am’.

Porta Alchémica® Visibility Ritual
5 Easy Steps, 5-10 Minutes
Before You Begin
- Place the chalice on the altar and pour a small amount of pure water into chalice ready for you to add elixir and drink it during the ritual.
- If using a candle, place it in the centre of the altar and light it.
- Arrange any other ritual tools and magickal correspondences on your altar.
- Light the charcoal tablet in a heatproof dish so it is glowing and ready for incense.

Holy Water
Cleanse, Prepare and Open Your Magickal Space
- Sprinkle Porta Alchémica® Holy Water around you, in the four corners, or flick your fingertips from a small dish to purify and consecrate the space.
- Say as you do so:
“I cleanse and sanctify this space, preparing it for the presence of ‘I Am’, the eternal flame, so that it may burn evermore brightly within me.”

Adjust Your Consciousness to the Eternal Fire of ‘I Am’
- Place Porta Alchémica® Mars planetary incense on the glowing charcoal, watching the smoke rise.
- Say as you do so:

Anointing Oils
Attune Your Consciousness to the Eternal Fire of ‘I Am’
- Place 3 drops of each Porta Alchémica® Mars anointing oil and Porta Alchémica® Aries anointing oil on your inner wrists.
- Use your index finger to draw the symbol of Mars (♂) and Aries (♈︎) on both inner wrists, your heart and your solar plexus.
- Rub the inner wrists together
- Then inhale the fragrance 3 times.
- Then say:
“Cosmic fire and light of Mars and Aries, vivify and quicken within me my inner warrior, breathe into me the courage to be seen and be all I can be.”

- Hold the chalice in front of you and say:
- Slowly drink the magickally potentised water from the chalice, feeling light fill every cell of your being.

- Blow four breaths into the space before you, saying:

- First, spray above the top of your head.
